Every 15 Minutes
The Every 15 Minutes program offers real-life experience without real-life risks. This is a 2-day program focusing on high school juniors and seniors, which challenges them to think about drinking, driving, personal safety, the responsibilty of making mature decisions, and the impact their decisions have on family, friends, and many others. The program's name was derived from the fact that in the early 1990's, every 15 minutes someone in the US died in an alcohol-related collision. The program brings together a broad coalition of local agencies with the goal of reducing alcohol-related incidents among youth. The partnering of California Highway Patrol, Los Angeles Police Department, and other schools validates the importance of working together to ensure a healthy community. program is designed to dramatically instill teenagers with the potentially dangerous consequences of drinking alcohol and texting while driving.
NCADD-SFV is the first non-profit organization to bring the Every 15 Minutes program to the San Fernando Valley in 2017 and have successfully facilitated three programs.
