Prevention is defined by the County of Los Angeles Substance Abuse Prevention and Control, as "Not in need of Treatment". Included in this population, is individuals that are involved in experimentation of substance use, at risk for addiction, under age drinking, or persons that would benefit from education, awareness and early intervention.
The National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence of San Fernando Valley, Inc. (NCADD) is one of 31 agencies that have been awarded a 2 1/2 year contract in providing prevention services. NCADD-SFV has been recognized, as a long standing outpatient treatment program, that provide quality services, as well as an organization dedicated to the community in making a difference.
During the time period of January 1, 2012 to June 30, 2012 we will be diligently working with SAPC (Substance Abuse Prevention and Control)in doing community assessments, to identify the needs, and populations that are at-risk and could benefit from prevention services.
As we move through this exciting project, in collaboration with the County of Los Angeles we will be providing services to our local communities in a way that will be beneficial to many for years to come.
As the projects develop we will post regular update of out activities and services on our web-site as this project develops.
