A Specialized Service For Safety Sensitive Employers And Their Employees

The NCADD-SFV has been serving the community for the last 25 years providing prevention, education, and referral services regarding alcoholism and other drug abuse to individuals and families.

WHAT IS THE OMNIBUS ACT?

The Omnibus Transportation Employee Testing Act of 1991 requires alcohol and drug testing of safety-sensitive employees in the aviation, motor carrier, railroad, and mass transit industries. The DOT published rules mandating drug and alcohol misuse prevention programs in February 1994.

These rules generally require implementation by January 1, 1995 for large employers (generally 50 or more safety-sensitive employees) and January 1, 1996 for Small employers.
